Cons of Conventional Vehicles

Cons of Conventional Vehicles

The numbers of conventional vehicles are much higher than hybrid or electric vehicles. Affordability is one of the major factors behind this. However, the rising popularity of EVs can bring a change because electric vehicles produce zero emissions and they have many other advantages too. Conventional cars are greater in numbers, but they have some disadvantages that are forcing the world population to shift towards EVs. In this blog, we have discussed some of these disadvantages.

They Emit Carbon

The biggest disadvantage of conventional vehicles is that they emit large amounts of carbon into the atmosphere. Carbon is a waste gas that is produced due to the burning of fossil fuels. This emitted carbon gas is resulting in increased pollution in our environment. Due to zero-emission, EVs are getting popular.

They Use Non-Renewable Energy

Conventional cars use non-renewable resources which means the fuels these vehicles are burning will deplete after some time. This can create a serious energy crisis in the world. EVs have been introduced as a replacement for these vehicles because they can run using renewable energy resources.

Requires A Lot of Maintenance

A conventional vehicle requires a lot of maintenance as compared to electric vehicles. This increases the annual maintenance cost of conventional vehicles. Unlike conventional vehicles, EVs do not require regular maintenance.

Fuel is Expensive

Oil and gas reserves are not just depleting, but they are expensive as well. The cost of running a conventional vehicle can be much higher than compared of an electric vehicle. The cost of an electric unit is much less than a liter of petrol or diesel.

Less Efficiency

Electric vehicles have much better efficiency as compared to conventional vehicles. An electric can also accelerate faster than a conventional car. Conventional vehicles also produce much louder noise while an EV makes almost no noise.
